Dramaturgical Supervision: Jean-Claude Carrière
Son of a viticulturist, Jean-Claude Carrière holds a Bachelor of Arts in History. He rapidly abandoned his career as a Historian to be an illustrator and author. In 1957 he published his first novel called “
Lézard”. He has worked with Pierre Etaix, Jean-Louis Barrault and Peter Brook.
Playwright, author, scriptwriter and Director, Jean-Claude Carrière adapted
Mahabharata for theatre and television.
He travelled extensively through India for 20 years, which resulted in the publication of a love dictionary.
Officer of the Legion of Honour, Jean-Claude Carrière is presently theatrical Vice President of the Society of Authors and Playwrights.
