Lyricist: AnnMarie Milazzo
AnnMarie is a writer and composer based in New York City. Her work includes co/writer of
Joan, a rock opera based on the life of Joan of Arc,
Pretty Dead Girl,
The Movie, featured at The 2004 Sundance International Film Festival
Her current projects are the full length musical
Pretty Dead Girl, being developed by the ARACA GROUP in N.Y.C and the full length musicals
Charlotte and
A Sea Change. AnnMarie was the vocal arranger for The New York Theater Workshop’s production of
Bright Lights, Big City; she also co-produced the record with Joel Moss. AnnMarie arranged the Alice Tully Hall production of
The New Americans, by Elizabeth Swados. She also produced the vocal arrangements for Stephen Schwartz’s new record entitled
Uncharted Territory. She is the vocal arranger for the hit Broadway musical
Spring Awakening. She is writing lyrics for
Carmen, a stage musical directed by Franco Dragone.
Her first CD entitled
House of Red was “red hot on college campuses” and reached #2 on Billboard’s Talent Net. AnnMarie’s music has been described as “beautiful, straight forward, and honest.” (Songwriter’s Monthly). Her songs have been featured on television programs and in independent films.
AnnMarie has vocal produced many of the vocals on The East Village Opera Company’s Greatest Hits Record on Universal Records. She has sung with many artists including Jonatha Brooke, Angelique Kidjo and Carlos Santana.
